1. Eccentric Wear of Tire
It mainly refers to the partial wear of the tread on one side of the semi trailer tire and the trapezoidal tread, which is usually called eccentric wear.
Reason analysis:
A. The air pressure of parallel tires is quite different;
B. The specifications of tire and rim do not match;
C. The axles are not parallel;
D. The loading of trailer is unbalanced with one side heavy and one side light. Due to insufficient tire pressure or long-term overload driving, the contact area between the tire and the ground is large, so that both sides of the tire are in uneven contact with the ground for a long time, resulting in early wear.
Solutions: Vehicle deflection is mainly caused by the above-mentioned conditions. According to the eccentric wear degree of semi trailer tires, check the relevant dimensions and some parts step by step.
2. Concentrated Wear of TireIts manifestation is a localized bald wear on the tread.
Reason analysis 1: It is caused by the brake drum being out of circularity. The out-of-round brake drum makes the brake drum and brake shoe always contact at a certain point when the semi trailer brakes, where the semi trailer will be locked first, causing concentrated wear on a certain part of the tire tread.
Reasons for out-of-roundness:
A. Manufacturing reasons of brake drum itself.
B, The wheel bolts are fastened in the wrong order.
Reason analysis 2: It is caused by excessive dynamic imbalance of wheels. Due to the uneven wall thickness of brake drum, unbalanced rim spokes and other reasons, the dynamic balance of wheel system is not good enough. During the high-speed running, the tire will bounce periodically, resulting in concentrated wear on a certain part of the tire tread.
The causes of excessive dynamic imbalance of wheels are as follows:
A. Uneven wall thickness of brake drum.
B. Out-of-round or deformed brake drum causes excessive static imbalance, which makes the semi trailer tire bounce periodically during rotation.
C. The distribution of axial load is unreasonable. One of the reasons is that the height difference between front and rear is too large after the main trailer is matched.
